The Library supports RCSI's learning, teaching and research at all levels. The Library's team of professional librarians, skilled in information retrieval and information management, are always available to provide a range of support services.

This team of librarians will provide personal, group and classroom teaching of information skills and will also provide a range of advisory support on information related problems.

  • If you recommend specific learning resources and book, please contact the library to arrange for copies to be made available 
  • The library offers extensive customized in-class information skills activities for students and researchers at all levels. Offers include evidence based healthcare information retrieval and management. See the Information Literacy tab.. 
  • Link to our Moodle course Information Seeking and Library Skills as a resource for your students
  • Link directly from within your Moodle content to relevant entries in clinical digests and e-journal articles.


Access to the electronic library

Our collections of e-books, e-journals and databases are delivered on and off campus via the RCSI network. Staff, including clinical and affiliate staff off-campus, need an RCSI network account to access the network. Network accounts can be arranged through the Director of the programme to which you are affiliated or contact the RCSI Information Technology Department at .


Physical access to RCSI Library, 26 York Street and Beaumont Hospital

  • Beaumont Hospital: you will need a Beaumont Hospital Identity Card - contact hospital security.
