Applications for RCSI Core Surgical Training 2020 intake will open at 5pm on Wednesday 23rd October 2019 via this page. The closing date for completed applications is 5pm on Thursday 5th December.

Interviews for Core Surgical Training are scheduled for Tuesday 4th February 2020 ( please note this date is subject to change)

Application guidelines

All applicants must: 

  • Submit evidence to prove eligbility and commencement of registration on the trainee division of the Irish Medical Council at the time of application to the Core Surgical Training Programme. Click here for the guidance document.
  • Be able to communicate clearly with patients and colleagues, click here for the English language requirements. This outlines the documentation which must be submitted with the application. 

There is no limit to number of applications. Points cannot be accrued between applications.  Applicants will only be marked on their record up to the end of their internship.

Applicants are expected to be truthful and honest in their application. Submission of false or misleading information will be regarded as a form of professional misconduct; this will lead to disqualification and the candidate may be reported to the Irish Medical Council.
