Key events for Fellows & Members include:

Charter Day Meeting

Charter Day 2019 will be held from 5 - 9 February. This annual meeting is held every February to commemorate the College's establishment by Royal Charter in 1784. The event encompasses intercollegiate case presentations, parallel speciality sessions, the Johnson & Johnson Lecture and the Colles Lecture.

Millin Meeting

The 41st RCSI Millin Meeting will take place on Friday, 9 November 2018 in RCSI. This year, the theme of the Meeting is 'The Surgeon of 2030'. This annual surgical meeting is held every November in memory of Sir Terence Millin, a famous President of RCSI in the 20th Century.

Some of the most challenging contemporary issues facing Irish surgeons and trainees are explored through a series of presentations throughout the day followed by the Millin Lecture.

Fellows & Members' Regional Meetings

Regional Meetings are held twice yearly in various locations around the island of Ireland. Hosted by the President, each meeting provides a forum in which to discuss the role RCSI can play in support of our Fellows & Members, as well as to facilitate feedback. Each meeting will be followed by an informal supper and CPD credits will be awarded to attendees.

Regional Meetings 2019: Sligo and Limerick

RCSI’s next Regional Meeting is due to take place in Sligo on Wednesday, 27 March 2019 at 5.30pm.

Information on how to register, along with confirmation of the venue and other information will be made available in due course.

On 21 November, there will be a Regional Meeting in Limerick.

CPD credits will be awarded to all attendees for both events.

Conferring Ceremonies

There are five major conferring ceremonies for new Fellows and Members of RCSI each year and they take place in:

  • Penang, Malaysia (July and December)
  • Bahrain (November) and
  • Dublin (July and December).

Belfast Regional Meeting - Belfast, 19 April 2018

The most recent regional Fellows and Members meeting was held in Belfast in April 2018, which was attended by over 30 Fellows and Members from the region.

Key topics for discussion included cross-border collaboration, continuous professional development opportunities and engagement opportunities for Fellows and Members at various career stages.
