IReL, the Irish Research eLibrary

IReL. the Irish Research eLibrary, is a nationally funded electronic research library, originally developed to support researchers in Biotechnology and Information Technology.

High-level research is both an academic and a national economic imperative, the essential component of a strategy to develop a knowledge-based economy and to position Ireland as a world leader in this respect. IReL is a library consortium of the Irish Universities Association funded by the Higher Education Authority (HEA) and the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. IreL delivers major research supports to the Irish research community through making high impact research journals and databases available across all sectors.

Individual resources available to RCSI via IReL are listed and accessed via the Library's database and journal portal.
