Global Alumni Events in Doha, Kuwait and Dubai

More than 120 RCSI Alumni, Fellows and Members attended November's guest lectures and suppers in Doha, Kuwait and Dubai as part of the College's global engagement strategy.


A guest lecture, Reframing Leadership in Healthcare, was delivered by Professor Ciaran O'Boyle, Director of the Institute of Leadership, RCSI Dublin, followed by supper and networking with classmates, friends and colleagues. In Doha, the RCSI Medal was presented by the President, Mr Declan Magee to the family of the late Dr Hassan Al-Naama, RCSI graduate (Medicine, Class of 1987) and Fellow (FRCSI 1991). Dr Yousuf Almaslamani spoke about his friend Dr Hassan Al-Naama, paying tribute to his professionalism, dedication and his desire to make a difference.

Commenting after these events, Ms Aíne Gibbons, Director, Development & Alumni Relations, RCSI said, "With over 2,000 Alumni and 1,800 Members & Fellows in the Middle East, the RCSI global network of health professionals is making a very significant impact on the health of the population throughout the region. These events in Doha, Kuwait and Dubai presented an important opportunity for RCSI to reconnect with graduates and surgeons to strengthen the ties both to RCSI and each other."
