With the formal proceedings of the AGM closed, the Association presented its annual "Student Society Award" for 2019, to the RCSI Drama Society. RCSI Drama, probably remembered as ‘The Royal Players' to most RCSI alumni, is one of the oldest societies in the College. Darren Gilheany (4th Med) accepted the award and described the activities of the society and how it would use the award to increase student involvement in public speaking and drama productions.

This year the Association presented its Charitable Donation to "Practitioner Health Matters", a professional service which assists in support and treatment of medical and dental practitioners and pharmacists who have mental health or addiction issues. The donation was accepted by Dr Ide deLargy, Director and Clinical lead of the service, who spoke about the work of the programme and its assistance to practitioners in need.

The Annual Lecture is named in honour of Sir William Taylor, President RCSI 1916-1918 and founding President of the Association in 1932. This year's lecture was delivered by Ms Gina Menzies BA (MOD), HDipEd, BD, MSc (Healthcare Ethics & Law), Lecturer in Bioethics RCSI, Theologian and Media Commentator on the topic of 'Meaningful Communication'.

The evening closed with an informal and convivial supper in the College Board Room.
