Overview

This case based discussion course allows participants to diagnose and create a management plan for common and less common surgical emergencies.

The interpretation of diagnostic abdominal imaging will be highlighted.

Learning objectives

  • Apply the essential steps in the initial management of surgicalo emergencies that can be used on a day to day basis for clinical management
  • Emphasising the appropriate use of laboratory investigations 
  • Learn to detect important pathologies on X-ray and CT Imaging 
  • Review the common general surgery, vascular, endocrine, and non-fracture orthopaedic presentations 
Who is this course suitable for? SHOs and registrars involved in emergency medicine and critical care
Fee Free for eligible NCHDs on the CPDSS programme or €300 for others.
