Casual visits to other libraries
If we don't have the book or journal you need, ask for a letter of introduction to another Library. The letter must state what you wish to consult.

ALCID: Academic Libraries Co-operating
ALCID is a co-operative arrangement among the major Irish academic libraries, enabling card-holders to access participating libraries. No borrowing allowed.

  • Full-time RCSI academic staff and students registered for higher degrees (Masters, PhD) are eligible to apply for an ALCID Card to facilitate their access into SCONUL Member libraries - apply for your card through RCSI Library.
 
Access to RCSI Library from ALCID Institutions: RCSI Library (26 York Street) is not currently accepting ALCID Cardholders from other institutions - this is a temporary policy. Updates will be posted here.
 

SCONUL: Society of College, National and University Libraries.
SCONUL is a co-operative arrangement among most of the the major Irish and UK academic libraries, enable card-holders to register and borrow from any of the participating libraries. A list of participating libraries is available on the SCONUL website

  • Full-time RCSI academic staff and research postgraduates are eligible to apply for a SCONUL Card to facilitate their access into SCONUL Member libraries - apply for your card through RCSI Library.
