Dr Sam Anya, is currently completing a PhD in Malaria Surveillance.

He previously worked at the University of The Gambia where he developed the curriculum for obstetrics and gynaecology as the course director. In addition to teaching and organising examinations in obstetrics and gynaecology, he supervised undergraduate and postgraduate students undertaking health research in The Gambia. He was also an Honorary Consultant Obsterician & Gynaecology at the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital, in the Gambia.

As Director of CIAM – Public Health Research & Development Centre, he oversaw a programme of operational research, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building and technical support.

His current interest are health systems especially information systems for health.
