Current position: Lecturer in Vascular Biology

Biography: Roger Preston obtained his BSc. (Hons) in Molecular Biology from University of Aberdeen, completed an MSc. in Bioengineering at the University of Strathclyde then attained his PhD at Imperial College London. He was appointed Assistant Professor at Trinity College Dublin in 2012 then Lecturer at RCSI in 2016. He has received several individual funding awards, including an HRB Research Fellowship (2007), a SFI Starting Investigator Research Grant (2009) and an HAI Scholar Award (2010). His research has been recognized by international research awards including the Novo Nordisk ‘Access-To-Insight’ Research Prize (2010), the Bayer Hemophilia Award Program Early Career Investigator Award (2013) and the Daiichi-Sankyo Irish Heart Foundation Award (2015). He is the Scientific Secretary of the Haematology Association of Ireland and serves as Associate Editor of Seminars in Thrombosis and Haemostasis (2015-).  He subsequently joined RCSI as Lecturer in Vascular Biology (2016) and is Co-Founder of the Irish Centre for Vascular Biology (2017).
