Current position: Associate Professor

Biography:  Dermot received his BSc (hons) in pharmacology from University College Dublin in 1983 and his PhD in Immunology from Dublin City University, Dublin in 1989. He worked as section chief in the New Drug Discovery division for Fujisawa Pharmaceutical Company, Osaka, Japan. In 1997 he joined the RCSI as a lecturer in the department of Clinical Pharmacology and subsequently joined the School of Pharmacy. In 2006 he was promoted to senior lecturer in the Graduate Entry medical school. He is a regular reviewer for a number of journals including Circulation (#1 cardiology journal), a reviewer and member of the International Society on Thrombosis & Haemostasis. He is also editor of the thrombosis section of Current Pharmaceutical Development.
