Biography:  Orna began her scientific career in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in 1987. She obtained her MSc from Trinity College Dublin and the RCSI. in 1994 and obtained her PhD from the RCSI. and the National University of Ireland in 2005. Orna was appointed part-time lecturer in the Biochemistry Department in 2002 and was subsequently appointed Lecturer/Administrator of Molecular and Cellular Therapeutics in 2006.
