Biography
In January 2015 Deirdre Lenehan took up the Drug Safety Facilitator post in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH). Deirdre is responsible for co-ordinating drug safety projects and implementing drug safety initiatives within the hospital. Additionally she is an active member of the national group, the Irish Medication Safety Network. Deirdre has worked in the MMUH Pharmacy Department since 2005 and has experience in various services including the Clinical, Antimicrobial and Medicines Information services. Deirdre completed an MSc in Hospital Pharmacy in TCD in 2008/2009. Deirdre has a keen interest in the education of Pharmacists and other Healthcare Professionals. To this end, Deirdre has lectured undergraduate pharmacy students in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland as well as contributing to UCD's Medical Undergraduate ‘Professional Completion' module and to their Graduate Diploma in Health Care (Risk Management and Quality). Deirdre enjoys teaching and tutoring pharmacy students and graduates.
