Biography
Patricia Ging graduated as a pharmacist from the University of Bradford having completed her pre-registration training split between community and hospital pharmacy. Since joining the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital she has worked as a clinical pharmacist and completed the MSc in clinical pharmacy through the University of Derby. Her clinical specialisms have included renal, respiratory, critical care and surgery. She is currently the transplant and pulmonary hypertension pharmacist in the Mater Hospital. This role involves responsibility for all aspects of medication use in the National Heart and Lung transplant programme and the National Pulmonary Hypertension Unit, including medication review for in-patients and outpatients, provision of medicines information and pharmaceutical care planning for these complex patients as part of the multidisciplinary team. In 2014, Patricia was promoted to Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in the School of Pharmacy. In 2017 she was made a "Faculty Fellow" by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. This award was based on an independent assessment of a portfolio of her work, peer testimonials and her CV. Faculty fellows are nationally/internationally recognised leaders in an area of expertise, with a breadth of experience and expertise.
