Biography
Ciaran Meegan qualified as a pharmacist at the University of Dublin before completing a Masters in Pharmacognosy. He spent 5 years working in community pharmacy before commencing his career in Hospital Pharmacy. He has been Head of Pharmacy Services at the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital since 1993. He was a member of the Council of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland 1994-2003. He was involved in a number of implementation strands for the findings of the Patient Safety Commission. He was awarded a Fellowship of the Pharmaceutical Society of Ireland in 2002. He is a past president of the Hospital Pharmacist's Association and has chaired the Irish Medication Safety Network since its inauguration in 2008.
