The Faculty of Radiologists at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) bestowed its highest honour of Honorary Fellow on two leading experts in the field of Radiology during its Annual Scientific Meeting which was held in the College from September 25th - 29th September 2008.  Professor Paul Finn from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (Diagnostic Radiology) and Professor Brian O'Sullivan (Radiation Oncology) were conferred with Honorary Fellowships at the Black Tie dinner on Friday 26th September.

The three-day event hosted 350 delegates and commenced with a welcome address by Professor Peter McCarthy, Dean of the Faculty of Radiologists at RCSI.  The meeting discussed topics relating to the field of Radiology including Cardiac CT/MRI; Caratoid and Cerebrovascular Disease; Venous Disease; Innovations in Radiotherapy and Radiation Biology Research. There were also a number of poster presentations at the event. The RCSI Faculty of Radiologists is the Professional and Academic Body Clinical Radiologists and Radiation Oncologists in Ireland. It offers specialist training and post graduate examinations. The Faculty's objectives are to advance the science, art and practice of Radiology, Radiation Oncology and its allied sciences and to promote education, study and research in the area.
