Monday, 7th April 2008-Minister Mary Harney Launches Art Exhibition at RCSI

An art exhibition to mark International Week at RCSI was officially launched by the Minister for Health and Children, Mary Harney TD, today. The exhibition will run on the concourse from Monday, 7th until Thursday, 10th April.

The exhibition is being coordinated by Dr. Abdul Bulbulia a graduate of RCSI. It includes paintings from Nigeria, South Africa and Mozambique as well as art from Pakistan and India, calligraphy from the Koran and a painting by Robert Bayles. The collection of twenty nine works are from the private collections of Mr. Patrick J. Murphy and Dr. Abdul Bulbulia, a graduate of RCSI.

RCSI’s International Week is an annual celebration of cultural diversity that aims to raise awareness of the various different cultures represented by the RCSI student body and promote the expression of that diversity through a wide range of activities and events, including the Halal Food Fest (4th April), International Night (11th April) and the International Food Festival (19th April).
