Friday, 13th April 2007- Annual Meeting of the British Cochlear Group at RCSI
The annual meeting of the British Cochlear Implant Group (BCIG) took place
from Thursday 12th to Friday 13th April at the Royal
College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI). Leading specialists from Ireland, the
UK and worldwide attended the two-day event which was hosted by Beaumont
Hospital and Dr. Laura Viani, Director of the Cochlear Implant Programme &
Head of Department. The main theme of this years meeting was “Assessment,
Management and Outcomes of Challenging Cases Including Adults and Children
with Additional Needs.” The keynote speakers included Dr. Antje Aschendorff,
University of Frieburg, Germany; Professor Jon Shallop, Mayo Clinic,
Minnesota, USA and Dr. Bodo Bertram, Cochlear Implant Centrum Wilhelm Hirte,
Germany. The BCIG is a professional body representing all the Cochlear Implant
Centres and other specialist medical practitioners throughout the United
Kingdom.
