DIVERCSITY, the RCSI student newspaper took home Best Small Publication and Best Newspaper Layout Of The Year at the recent SMEDIA Awards held in the Aviva stadium.

In taking home the award, DIVERCSITY competed against many other college newspapers, some of which have been running for decades. Winning the awards was therefore an outstanding achievement for such a young publication.

Commenting on the win, Editor in Chief Nikita Rane said, ‘It was a very exciting evening and a lot of wonderful things were said about DIVERCSITY!

We were informed we set a new record for the highest number of nominations for a first time entry in the Smedia Awards, which have been in existence for 16 years.
We came away with two awards and a great sense of pride in all we have achieved in two short years"
