Two Awards for TERG students at the CRS Annual Meeting

Well done to Ms. Laura Gallagher and Ms. Emily Ryan who both took home prizes at the Controlled Release Society Annual Meeting, July 16 - 19.

Emily was presented with the Robert Langer Student Travel Award which she received to attend the meeting in Boston to present her research on ‘Collagen - Copper-Doped Bioactive Glass Composite Scaffolds for the Treatment of Infection and Regeneration of Bone'. Emily's research is supervised by Prof. Fergal O'Brien and Dr. Cathal Kearney, and is funded by the Irish Research Council.

Elsewhere, Laura was awarded the 2017 Graduate Research Advances in Delivery Science (GRADS) award for her poster, ‘Development of Functionalized Hydrogels to Enhance Stem Cell Therapy for Cardiac Regeneration'. Laura's PhD, funded by the Anatomical Society, is supervised by Prof. Garry Duffy, Prof. Fergal O'Brien and Dr. Tom Farrell.
