Third Best Presentation award of 2017 for Joanne O'Dwyer

Congratulations (again!) to Joanne O'Dwyer, PhD student with the RCSI School of Pharmacy and TERG, who won the award for Best Oral Presentation at the 39th All-Ireland Schools of Pharmacy Conference held in University College Cork, April 23 - 24.

Joanne's talk, entitled "The Formulation of a Nanoparticle Loaded Hydrogel System for Sustained Delivery of an Angiogenic Growth Factor to the Ischaemic Myocardium", was based on her current research which is funded under the SFI TREND project (Translational Research in Nanomedical Devices). Joanne's supervisors are Profs Sally Ann Cryan, Garry Duffy and Andreas Heise.

 Visiting Erasmus student Rita Ibañez also gave a presentation at the conference, entitled "Development of a functionalized biomaterial to support pancreatic islet viability in transplantation". Rita's research is being carried out as part of the DRIVE project and is supervised by Dr. Helena Kelly.
