TERG PhD student picks up award at Matrix Biology Ireland 2016 Meeting

Congratulations to PhD student Laura Gallagher who was awarded joint runner-up for her oral presentation at the Matrix Biology Ireland (MBI) 2016 Meeting which took place in Galway's Hotel Meyrick, 16-18 November.

Laura's talk was entitled: 'Development of functionalised hydrogels to enhance stem cell delivery and integration into the ischaemic myocardium'.

Profs. Sally Ann Cryan and Fergal O'Brien also spoke at the meeting with talks entitled 'Harnessing biomaterials for the development of advanced therapeutics and regenerative approaches for respiratory disease' and 'Gene-activated scaffolds for tissue repair' respectively.

Also at the meeting, TERG PI and lecturer in the School of Pharmacy,  Dr Cian O'Leary was newly appointed to the MBI Council (2017-2020). Prof. O'Brien was also reappointed to the Council (2017-2019).
