RCSI MSc Physician Associate Studies, Bon Secours Scholarship Programme

The first programme commenced in January 2016 and RCSI has now recruited for their second cohort of students for January 2017. The programme is two-years full-time, based in Dublin and made up of a balance of theory and practice with full clinical rotations in general medicine and specialities. Physician Associates (PAs) support doctors in the diagnosis and management of patients and are trained to perform a number of roles including taking medical histories, performing examinations, making diagnoses and analysing test results. The Bon Secours Group is delighted to announce an innovative scholarship programme to support interested candidates in pursuing a Physician Associate career path. In conjunction with the RCSI School of Medicine, the Bon Secours Health System will part-fund two candidates (terms and conditions apply) for the January 2018 programme. This innovation is consistent with the Bon Secours 2020 Strategic Plan, highlighting commitments to partnerships and planning.

If you are interested in this exciting initiative, please visit the RCSI website for further information on Physician Associate Studies and apply directly via the website. Applicants must meet the entry requirements criteria set out by the RCSI/NUI, after which shortlistable candidates will be subject to an interview process.

Successful applicants must be willing to work as a PA graduate in any of the locations of the Bon Secours Health System (Dublin, Cork, Galway, Tralee).

If you are interested in discussing this programme further, please contact Dr Pauline Joyce for informal enquiries.
