New group of students joins MSc Physician Associate Studies

16 January 2017

RCSI has welcomed its newest cohort of Physician Associate students to the College. The group of 14 are embarking on an intensive two-year Masters in Physician Associate Studies. The students are from varied backgrounds with many working until recently in healthcare roles.

Commenting on the occasion the programme's medical director, Professor James Paul O'Neill said: "We are delighted to welcome these students to RCSI. The Physician Associate role is an exciting career pathway that offers qualified PAs the opportunity to work as an integral member of the medical team, in a wide variety of settings. The profession is growing rapidly internationally and we are delighted to be the first college in Ireland to offer a qualification in PA studies. I wish our new cohort of students every success in their studies with RCSI."
