Biography

Fiona Daly graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons School of Physiotherapy, Dublin in 2004. She subsequently worked in the Rotunda Hospital, Dublin before taking up a position in Beaumont Hospital. In 2007, Fiona moved into the role of Practice Tutor and was involved in the education and assessment of students in a variety of Physiotherapy clinical practice areas (including critical care and medical respiratory). During this time Fiona established and chaired an Inter-professional education working group across healthcare disciplines. She also lead a team of Practice Educators in implementing evidence based, multiple student : educator placement models. Fiona has a specific interest in health profession education and has been involved in developing an innovative, online assessment skills module for clinical teachers in health professions education; a project which was funded by the National Academy for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning (NAIRTL).

Fiona joined the School of Physiotherapy in June 2013 as Practice Education Coordinator and was awarded an MSc in Leadership and Management Development later that year. She is a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) and has represented RCSI on the ISCP Education and Professional Development standing committee. She has also acted as a committee member on the Chartered Physiotherapists in Education (CPE) employment group and has held the position of website officer for the Chartered Physiotherapists in Respiratory Care (CPRC) clinical interest group. Fiona is also a member of the RCSI Medical Education Research Group (MERG) which is a community of practitioners with a research interest in the area of health professions education.
