Master of Science in Nursing (Advanced Leadership) Programme
New Programme from Faculty of Nursing & Midwifery
Purpose of Programme is to:
Provide students with an advanced level of theoretical leadership knowledge
deemed relevant to enhancing practice by fostering a questioning approach to
knowledge development and professional practice issues.
Programme Aims are to:
Facilitate the development of the nurse in the field of leadership at advanced
level thus allowing critical evaluation and synthesis using appropriate
research findings. An increasing focus on ‘evidence-based’ practice in nursing
has created an environment in which research awareness is essential
Programme Features

Innovative content that includes clinically focused modules on
reflection-on-practice, clinical judgement, decision-making, clinical
supervision and mentorship

Innovative approaches to professional and clinical leadership, management,
strategy and quality in the healthcare environment

Focus on contemporary issues in nursing and leadership and healthcare

Research methods and Dissertation taught

Approval for the programme received from An Bord Altranais
-
Approval granted from the National University of Ireland

Expected to commence in September 2010.

Programme provided by the Faculty of Nursing and Midwifery, RCSI

Utilises the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI) framework

Level 9 European Credit Transfer System (ECTS)

Offered part-time over two academic years. Modular framework

Offers six modules in the first year and one module and a dissertation in the
second year and a choice of modules are offered
