Intercollegiate Basic Surgical Skills Course 

A THREE DAY PRACTICAL TRAINING COURSE 

Aimed at:

Trainees who are starting Basic Surgical Training in all of the surgical specialties.

Course Objectives:

To train the participants in generic basic techniques applicable to all types of surgery.

Course Content:

This is a practical, hands on course covering the following:

  • Instrument handling
  • Suturing techniques
  • Knot tying techniques
  • Wound management
  • Introduction to endoscopic surgery

 

A satisfactory completion of this course is a requirement for obtaining the CCBST (Certificate of Completion for Basic Surgical Training).

Closing Date:

One month (exactly) before course date commencement

Fee:                 €750.00

Venue:            The Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
