Frank Coffey

Professor Frank Coffey was 2013/14 Educator in Residence at RCSI with a special interest in supporting the development of simulation and a bank of simulated patients at RCSI. He is a graduate of RCSI and is currently a consultant in the Emergency Department at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. He has a major interest in inter-professional education and is an Associate Professor at the University of Nottingham where he is Consultant in Advanced Clinical Skills to the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy and Clinical Director of the MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice which he developed in 2007.

Frank has a particular interest in the simulation of acute conditions and has developed a cohort of Simulated Patients around this. In 2006 he ran the first externally accredited Simulated Patient Training Course in the UK.
