A HealthCare Industry Representative Credentialing Programme

This bespoke blended-learning credentialing education programme is designed to provide healthcare industry representatives (HCIRs) entering healthcare facilities for the purpose of conducting business, with knowledge regarding the key principles relating to patient health, safety and confidentiality, ensuring health services that industry employees are competent and appropriately qualified for the roles they perform and provide evidence confirming this fact.

Programme aims

  • To enhance the standards of training for HCIRs visiting healthcare organisations.
  • To provide assurance to health service and hospital staff that HCIRs have appropriate training.
  • To support public and private health service providers fulfill their duty of care to protect patients and ensure safe outcomes.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this programme, participants will be able to:
  • Demonstrate a critical understanding of the complexity of healthcare, the environment and the safety agenda.
  • Critically discuss the issues of consent, privacy, confidentiality, dignity and codes of conduct.
  • Critically discuss the role of infection prevention and control in healthcare settings.
  • Critically discuss hazards in healthcare settings (biological, physical, psychosocial and chemical).

Start date
  • Friday, 1 September 2017 9am-1.30pm in RCSI, 123 St Stephen’s Green, Dublin 2.
Requirements prior to acceptance on the programme
  • Complete the following Employer Verification Form (This form contains a section, which must be completed by the employer, signed, and dated and uploaded during the online application process.)
  • Photograph.
