Torin Glass and his wife Michelle are happy to introduce
Ronan Hugh Glass born on October 25, 2013. Both mom
and son Ronan are doing wonderfully well and looking
forward to his first trip to Ireland.
Joan Noelker was elected Chief Resident of Emergency
Medicine at Washington University in St Louis and she
recently got engaged to Phil Moy who is a full-time
faculty member at Washington University in the division of

Paul Dhillon was awarded the Canadian Medical Association
Award for Resident Leadership and the College of Family
Physicians of Canada - Murray Stalker Award. This award
recognises and promotes scholarly activities of family
medicine residents. After successfully attaining his
Certification in Family Medicine, Paul is currently Clinical
Assistant Professor at the University of Saskatchewan in
the Department of Academic Family Medicine and will
be commencing the Diploma in Tropical Medicine at the
London School of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in 2014.
Harry Greditzer completed his radiology residency in the
University of Miami in June 2013 and will commence a two-
year Fellowship in Musculoskeletal Imaging & Intervention
at The Hospital for Special Surgery at Weill Cornell Medical
College, New York.

Gavin Falk has been made Chief Resident of General
Surgery at Cleveland Clinic, Ohio.

Congratulations to Melissa Pendergrass and Grayson
Pounder who were married in August 2013, we wish them
every happiness for the future.
Melissa recently took up her first consultant gynaecologist
position in Portland, Oregon, USA.
CLASS OF 2006
Benjamin LaBrot has been named a CNN Hero for his work
with Floating Doctors www.floatingdoctors.com Ben would
love to have volunteers spend their elective assignment with
them, and it is a great opportunity to learn about tropical
medicine. UCLA and other university medical programmes
have already sent students to the project to work.
Ben works with many groups of indigenous people in the

CLASS OF 2005
Michelle Mary McEvoy and Sean Higgins celebrated their
marriage on August 31, 2013 and we wish them every
happiness for the future. Michelle commenced her SPR
training in Ireland and has taken up a permanent post as a
Consultant General Paediatrician in Great Ormond Street
Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust. Sean is a
Partner at Galway Primary Care and CEO of the Irish Primary
Care Research Network. Together they are enjoying building
up frequent flyer miles!
CLASS OF 2004
As a student, Awsan Al-Mohaini played an active part
in the RCSI Students Union in 2002. After completing
postgraduate studies in 2010 in Internal Medicine, Awsan
is now a Specialist in Internal Medicine in Al-Amiri Hospital,
Kuwait with a special interest in diabetes. Aswan is married
with three children.

Farrah-Hani Imran completed her Malaysian Ministry
of Youth and Sports Scholarship service bond. Currently,
a Consultant Plastic Surgeon and Head of Plastic &
Reconstructive Surgery at the National University of Malaysia
Medical Centre (UKMMC), she works closely with fellow
Malaysian RCSI alumni serving the Malaysian public. Her
family are still grieving the sudden loss of Farrah-Hani's
father, Professor Imran Gurbachan, pioneer of ENT in
Malaysia and South East Asia, and a Fellow of RCSI.

CLASS OF 2001
John O'Dwyer is a GP principal in North Dublin and in
2012, he was appointed as a GP Trainer on the North Dublin
City GP Training Programme. He lives with his wife and five
children, Jack, Aoibhe, Tadhg, Maggie and Oisin.
CLASS OF 1999
Ali Saad Al-Obaidi was appointed Minister of Health in
Kuwait on January 6, 2014, during a recent cabinet reshuffle
by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber
Al-Sabah. In addition to his undergraduate degree from
RCSI, Dr Ali Al-Obaidi has an MA in Health Administration.
CLASS OF 1997
lan Moss is currently Associate Professor of Medicine at
Harvard Medical School and is leading the first US trial of
Fecal Transplantation to treat active Crohn's Disease. At
home in Dover, Massachusetts he enjoys climbing the hills
on his bike, and occasionally humming the Surgeon's Song in
the car with his sons.

Congratulations to Kholoud Qasem who tied the knot with
Faisal Alabdulrazzak in July.
