Computers for Doctors – PowerPoint

Overview

This course is designed for users that have a small amount of experience in using MS PowerPoint.

Participants may have opened and edited an existing presentation and run a slideshow using slides that were created by a more experienced user.

This course is designed to work with participants to ensure that they are confident creating, building and delivering new presentations using all the topics outlined below as well as using existing presentations. Participants should be confident in carrying out basic computing tasks such as managing files, sending and receiving emails and browsing the internet.

Learning objectives

  • Participants will learn how to produce professional effective presentations as efficiently as possible using the standard features in MS PowerPoint 2010
  • Getting around in PowerPoint 2010
  • Ending a PowerPoint session, beginning a new presentation
  • Adding new slides, deleting slides
  • Formatting text, formatting slides – the design tab
  • Headers and footers, working with objects, create a picture album
  • Changing slide sequence, slide transitions, slideshow options
  • Creating notes pages, Re-using slides
  • Slide master view, the hand-out master
  • Reviewing and distributing presentations
Who is this course suitable for? SHOs in all surgical specialties, emergency medicine doctors.
Fee Free for eligible NCHDs on the CPDSS programme or €300 for others.
