Advanced Laparoscopic Workshop
Overview
This course has been designed for senior registrars in general surgery, who are already performing laparoscopic cholecystectomies independently. The course will give attendees an opportunity to have two-way discussions on the up-to-date laparoscopic operative management in topics such as laparoscopic hepatobiliary, gastric and small bowel surgery under the guidance of experienced laparoscopic consultant surgeons.
The course will also allow attendees to perfect intracorporeal suturing and knot tying using virtual reality and real laparoscopic simulators on some challenging bench models. This course has proven to be a very enjoyable interactive and hands on workshop.

Learning objectives
- Perform an intracorporeal suture placement and knot tying more efficiently
- Gain knowledge of the more complex laparoscopic gallbladder procedures and laparoscopic common bile duct procedures
- Build practical knowledge of the decision making and management of peptic ulcer disease
- Increase your confidence in performing laparoscopic bowel anastomosis
